Talon’s Point of the Day -Aug 4th, 2016 Your Delilah

Everyone, male or female, rich or poor, young or old, of every color and creed faces a Delilah in their life. It’s often not a person, and if confronted and overcome, will be displaced by a new Delilah. In our youth it may well be a person. As we age it could be anything. For a period of time for me it was twitter and other social media. Anyone, or anything that draws us from our God ordained purpose has become our Delilah. Ask yourself, “Who, or what is my Delilah?” Better yet, ask God.

Talon’s Point of the Day – Feb13th, 2016 Endure The Flames

Heart of Fire

Just as with gold and silver, the heart is only purified by fire. If you find yourself standing in the middle of the flames, with everything around you that you hold dear burning away fear not. God has not left you. He did not let you fall into the furnace while he was looking away. As unpleasant as it is to be told this, God not only placed you in the furnace, he is stoking the flames. As little as it may comfort you I compel you with everything within me to stand and trust him. Just as he did with the three Hebrew children, just as he has done with me repeatedly, he’ll be faithful to you. He is not about to let the flames destroy you. Let him burn away the dross in your life, for what will remain is what he designed you to be. Do not seek an exit. Do not run. For in due season you will behold the beauty of what he desires to create within you.

Talon’s Point of the Day – Feb. 9th, 2016 Holy Ground

God is rarely found in the accolades of men. He is found in the wilderness, in the places of solitude. Don’t fear the isolation. You are standing on holy ground.

Talon’s Point of the Day – Sept. 25th 2015 Eye Your Steps

What we allow our eyes to rest on reveals to both God and our enemy what is in our hearts. It will either be things that are holy and used by our loving Father or our enemy to guide our steps toward the will of who we allow to master us. It will either be used to strengthen our walk or to weaken it. We like to talk about watching where we step, but the reality is we step where we’re looking. So, the next time you stumble don’t question where your feet stepped. Instead, question where you were allowing your eyes to rest.

Talon’s Point of the Day – June 21st, 2015 Praying or Braying?

True prayer is when we come before God’s thrown in determined agreement with His will, pursuing the knowledge of said will including knowledge of how to carry out our part of His plan. Instead we too often waste God’s time arrogantly proclaiming our will to Him and expecting Him to figure out how to carry out His part in our plan. Today are we truly praying, or just braying like stubborn donkeys?

Talon’s Point of the Day – June 9th, 2015 The Slave’s Choice

We are ALL slaves by choice, making us without excuse on the day of judgement. Either we choose to be slaves to the sin we were born into, or we choose to be freed from sin and become, as Paul called it “slaves of righteousness.” (Romans 6:19)

Obedience to sin? Obedience to righteousness? This is our choice today, as always.

Talon’s Point of the Day – May 6th, 2015 Live Life As HE Sees Fit

World – “Live life however you see fit”

God – “Be Holy”

There are Christians who think these two statement can be compatible. They’re not. Even as Christian we are not granted the space by God to live however we see fit so long as we “believe in Jesus.” When we determine to live as we see fit, we are placing our will above God’s and by so doing we have placed a god above God. That god being ourselves and our own desires.

Just as Christ prayed in Gethsemane for what he wanted, he nevertheless deferred to his Father’s will. Be deferring to his Father, Christ achieved the purpose for which he came. If he had not, I would still be lost. When we do the same, we will reach the purpose He has created us for. Should we not, much will be lost.

Talon’s Point of the Day – April 22nd, 2015 “Get out of the Pool!”

How sad it is that we so often chose to wallow into the cesspools of human depravity rather than sail the oceans of God’s goodness. Need I expound? Can you hear the surf calling? It’s time to get out of the pool.
