Talon’s Point of the Day – Nov. 20th, 2016 Don’t “Give Him Up”

jesus-crucified

To paraphrase the great John R.W.Stot, one of the principle authors of the Lausanne Covenant, from his classic book Cross of the Christ,

Judas gave Jesus up to the Priests (out of greed). The Priests gave Jesus up to Pilate (out of envy). Pilate gave Jesus up to the soldiers to be crucified (out of cowardice), but God, and Jesus himself, gave him up to the Cross out of pure love.

Share him generously, but never give him up.

Talon’s Point of the Day – Oct 20th, 2016 Sign of Love

If longing to be with someone until it hurts in our heart is a sign we love them then what does it say about us if we call ourselves Christians but do not long to be with our Savior?

Talon’s Point of the Day -Aug 28th, 2016 Scorched Earth

Just a reminder to all that think Jesus was all just about making sure you can have the warm fuzzies in life; the very Christ Jesus who willfully gave all of himself to set us free from sin and it’s eternal hellish consequence is the same Jesus who has a scorched earth policy.

The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.

Don’t get caught in the firestorm.

Talon’s Point – Feb.19th, 2016 Death Clothes

As Christians we have died with Christ (Romans 6:8) and have been buried with him(Romans 6:4). Returning to the sin he has freed us from is like shedding our pure white garments (Ephesians 5:7), digging up a dead man, our old man (Romans 6:6), stripping him of his rot and stench soaked clothes, and putting them on ourselves.

Leave your death clothes where they belong, on that old man.

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. Romans 6:8

We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. Romans 6:4

..and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. Ephesians 5:7

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Roman 6:6

Talon’s Point of the Day – Feb.16th, 2016 True Love

We know we are developing the mind and heart of our savior when the souls of those who have greatly wronged us are exceedingly more important to us than our anguish. This is love beyond human capacity. This is how Christ loves. This is true love.

Talon’s Point of the Day – Feb 4th, 2016 Are You ن ?

We are living in a time of heroes of the Cross but we’re so enslaved to our American comfort that we live our days unaware. Meanwhile, brothers and sisters we’ve never met are losing everything, driven by persecution to flee for their lives with nothing but the literal clothes on their backs to live in tents, or worse. Those who do not make it out, or stay in defiance of Islamists to be the light of Christ in a darkening world, are being martyred for the Savior they love more than life itself.

What are you and I doing, not only to shine God’s light in our own darkening world, but to bring some relief to our brothers and sisters of faith who have lost all for the Cross of Christ?

Talon’s Point of the Day – Jan 20th, 2016 Shame On Me….Please!

Our modern society celebrates the shameless and their shamelessness but I’m deeply grateful for shame. It drives me back to the feet of my Savior, where all that is holy, all that is pure is found. Where I am washed clean from my wretched filth, and ultimately from the shame that makes me aware of it. Yes, shame on me….please!

Koran’s Jesus

And there you have it. Even the Quran can not deny the divinity of Christ

What does the Koran have to say about Jesus? This muslim did his homework. Watch to find out what he found, or read the story below:

Who is Jesus?

While I was working in a muslim mosque as an imam, as a parish priest, I preach in my parish that Jesus Christ is not God, for me, God was only Allah, and I believed Allah never got married, so no sons for Allah. So I preached there that Jesus is not God. Then somebody ask me, ‘Who is Jesus?’ from the crowd. Maybe a muslim, but he asked me, ‘Who is Jesus?’ I was preaching he is not God, but the question is who is he? To know who is Jesus? I read the entire Koran once again: 114 chapters, 6666 words in the Koran when I read it. The name of prophet Muhammad, I found it in Koran 4 places…

Talon’s Point of the Day – Dec. 16th, 2015

While the work of salvation is complete in Christ, the crown of life is pressure fit. You are re-made to fit it. It is not made to fit you. Don’t quit the process before you’re fit to wear it.

“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” – James 1:12

“Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” – Our Savior, John 14:21

Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.” – Our Savior to John the Revelator, Revelation 2:10
