Talon’s Point of the Day – March 6th, 2016 “Who Indeed”

And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” – Luke 5:21

Who indeed.

The Scribes and Pharisees were on the precipice of revelation. Had they dived into the very question they were asking they would have discovered the purpose for their very existence and the source of all knowledge. Instead they turned and walked away to what they believed was safety within their own sense of reason.

There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death. – Proverbs 14:12

Talon’s Point of the Day – Jan 16th, 2016 There Is No Lottery For Wisdom

The lottery sells false hopes of getting rich easily from just a dollar, to the earthly and weak minded, where a selective elite (the operators) always benefit and an occasional few “winners” are paraded before the cameras to keep hyping their false hope. I guess it’s not surprising that Government runs it.

There is no lottery for wisdom. It must be sought out diligently, worked for arduously, and often cost you everything, even your very self, yet the reward is eternal and grander than you can imagine.

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” – Jesus (Matthew 6:19-21)

“But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” – Paul, the Apostle (1st Corinthians 2:8)

“The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.” – Solomon (Proverbs 4:7)

There’s a place where every would-be treasure hunter can go daily and dig, with the guarantee of not only finding treasure every time, but also not having human thieves lying in wait to take it away. Why? Because thieves have no idea where this place is, and even if you told them they wouldn’t recognize it’s value.

Talon’s Point of the Day – Dec. 28th, 2015 Don’t Be Fooled By A Fool

When we attempt to view God through the lens of our own choosing, we end up seeing a fool in a mirror. Don’t be fooled by a fool.  Set aside the foolish pride that compels you to define God on your terms. We can only view God on His terms. Terms He provided in His written word. Once we accept His terms, He reveals Himself to us in amazing ways each day if we are looking.

Talon’s Point of the Day – Dec. 17th, 2015 What Would You Take On A Flying Leap?

If we each found ourselves on a doomed flight and someone tossed us a parachute and told us we had time to grab just one small item we could slip in our clothing, where would each of our bibles land? Would we think of it? Would we have even brought it with us on our travels?

Sometimes life brings us hard and sudden choices. Choose wisely what is critically important now and you’ll make the right choice when disaster strikes.

If you find yourself going straight to your computer in the morning instead of to your bible perhaps its time to evaluate your priorities and reset your habits. I too can find myself guilty of this at times, like today. So I’m off to search God’s word for the truth I need this day. How about you?
