Talon’s Point of the Day – Nov 23rd, 2015 Dying For More Social Media

None of us will be laying in our death bed, and as we breath our last breaths, lament how we should have spent more time on social media. May we all spend more time with our Savior this morning.

Talon’s Point of the Day – July 25th, 2015 Pleasure And Pain

We are taught by this world from our early youth through the end of our days to avoid pain and seek pleasure.

Christ came and avoiding pleasure he reached out to pain, both of those around him, and ultimately his own.

Dare I do less?

Talon’s Point of the Day – June 9th, 2015 The Slave’s Choice

We are ALL slaves by choice, making us without excuse on the day of judgement. Either we choose to be slaves to the sin we were born into, or we choose to be freed from sin and become, as Paul called it “slaves of righteousness.” (Romans 6:19)

Obedience to sin? Obedience to righteousness? This is our choice today, as always.

Talon’s Point of the Day – May 30th 2015 – Foundations

When God decides to rebuild you from scratch He’ll likely strip you all the way down to your CDs, DVD, and BVDs and don’t be surprised if He doesn’t let you keep all of those. Before He can raise us up as lighthouses to others He often must first raze us to our foundation, which is Christ.

Talon’s Point of the Day 2.0 – May 24th, 2015 Let God Knock Some Sense Into You

In my 20’s I was baptized in a silty mountain creek. After the 3rd try to completely submerge me only to bounce me off a submerged boulder it was decided I was sufficiently wet, and sore (True Story).

In hindsight I think God was telling me how hard it can be to knock sense into me. From time to time Him and I seem to repeat that experience.

Let God knock some sense into you if that’s what it takes. It’ll be worth the pain.

Talon’s Point of the Day – May 6th, 2015 Live Life As HE Sees Fit

World – “Live life however you see fit”

God – “Be Holy”

There are Christians who think these two statement can be compatible. They’re not. Even as Christian we are not granted the space by God to live however we see fit so long as we “believe in Jesus.” When we determine to live as we see fit, we are placing our will above God’s and by so doing we have placed a god above God. That god being ourselves and our own desires.

Just as Christ prayed in Gethsemane for what he wanted, he nevertheless deferred to his Father’s will. Be deferring to his Father, Christ achieved the purpose for which he came. If he had not, I would still be lost. When we do the same, we will reach the purpose He has created us for. Should we not, much will be lost.
