Talon’s Point of the Day – March 6th, 2016 “Who Indeed”

And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” – Luke 5:21

Who indeed.

The Scribes and Pharisees were on the precipice of revelation. Had they dived into the very question they were asking they would have discovered the purpose for their very existence and the source of all knowledge. Instead they turned and walked away to what they believed was safety within their own sense of reason.

There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death. – Proverbs 14:12

Talon’s Point of the Day – Feb13th, 2016 Endure The Flames

Heart of Fire

Just as with gold and silver, the heart is only purified by fire. If you find yourself standing in the middle of the flames, with everything around you that you hold dear burning away fear not. God has not left you. He did not let you fall into the furnace while he was looking away. As unpleasant as it is to be told this, God not only placed you in the furnace, he is stoking the flames. As little as it may comfort you I compel you with everything within me to stand and trust him. Just as he did with the three Hebrew children, just as he has done with me repeatedly, he’ll be faithful to you. He is not about to let the flames destroy you. Let him burn away the dross in your life, for what will remain is what he designed you to be. Do not seek an exit. Do not run. For in due season you will behold the beauty of what he desires to create within you.

Talon’s Point of the Day – May 5th, 2015 False Revolutions

May 5th seems to me a fitting day to address revolutions. We can seek them in society out of pursuit for something better for everyone. Yet, if we do not first root out from within ourselves the corruption that plagues humanity, failure of true broad societal benefit in pursuit of any social revolution will befall us collectively as it does each of us within our own souls. The only way to truly root out that corruption is to willfully expose our every thought,  desire, and action, no matter how small we deem it, to the revealing light of God’s scrutiny. Any true healthy revolution must begin in our own soul as a revelation of God through Jesus Christ. All others are just false revolutions, born of false revelations rooted in our own pride, the same pride that leads to all human depravity.
