Response to Ted Cruz Fundraiser

While I really like what I’ve seen of Ted Cruz the reality is still that even he won’t seem to properly address Barack Obama’s brazen disregard for Constitutional limits to Executive power.

Today I received his latest fundraiser email. I responded….

Chuckie Schumer calls for return of Sedtion Act

“NY Senator Charles “Chuckie” Schumer would have you ignorantly believe that speaking out against government is an act of sedition and in need of being beaten into submission by blunt IRS force as Schumer calls for the IRS to increase their assault on Tea Party organizations.

The reality of sedition is however just the opposite of Chuckie’s delusion. The right to gather with like minded Americans and speak out against our government is sacrosanct in our Constitution with few exceptions. In fact Thomas Jefferson went so far as to proffer the option of the people to outright dissolve this government and start over. How could we possibly do so if we aren’t free to unite, financially, publicly, and otherwise, to communicate our dissatisfaction with government?

Senator Chuckie has in essence called for a return of the Sedition Act through bureaucratic fiat. I would contend the actual act of sedition is often when politicians call for the destruction of constitutional rights of individuals to speak to the government corruption those same politicians benefit from, thereby altering the original design of our government and negating the validity of the Constitution itself. Schumer should be held accountable for his war on the Constitution through his attacks against citizens who exercise their rights, including being punished accordingly, not that he actually will.” – Talon

Sonnet I: No More

“No More” – A Sonnet by David Emeron

David Emeron: Sonnets

No touch, no sleep, no rest, no love like mine
For thee, shall ere console me in my place
Of rest.  No more shall any weight of thine
My breastconsole.  No more, thy fairest face,

Within my whole creation be contained.
No more shall I awaken, feel my heart
And thine, and should not feel that there be twain.
Not rhythm, nor our beings, be made to part.

No more shall flesh be moved nor move mine own
By neither wish, nor thought, nor even touch,
To such a fervent height as we have known–
As only I and thou have felt this much.

Must I, in perpetuity, endure
No more, no more, no more, no more… no more….

“Alexis de Tocqueville was correct. We’ve chosen to be equal in slavery rather than unequal in poverty, and the Washington elitists couldn’t be happier with our choice.” – Talon

Talon’s Point of the Day – Jan. 15th, 2014

“As Christians and libertarians many of us spend a great deal of time pursuing the knowledge that both challenges and deepens our understanding of both God and humanity.

Meanwhile those who waste their days pursuing frivolity and acquire their ideology from snake oil salesmen who gladly speak words to satiate the self gratifying hearts of fools, refer to us as ignorant and unlearned.

The irony is not lost on us, though sadly it escapes those most in need of irony’s wisdom” – Talon

Armed Citizen in TX Stops Shooting Spree and Saves Cop by Making 50+ Yard Shot With a Pistol

Armed Citizen in TX Stops Shooting Spree and Saves Cop by Making 50+ Yard Shot With a Pistol

Give Me Liberty

This is from Guns Save Lives.

The title of this post says it best.

This is a pretty amazing story. An armed private citizen assisted a police officer who was pinned down by the gunfire of a madman who had just killed 3 people and could have killed many more. Amazingly the concerned citizen, Vic Stacy, did so by taking a shot of 50+ yards using only a pistol.

The caliber and gun are unknown, but Stacy mentions a “magnum bullet” which could mean a .357 or .44. Stacy landed multiple shots on the shooter and this allowed the police officer to also land shots with his AR-15 while the suspect was distracted.

According to Guns.com,

Stacy raised his gun, fired, and landed one hell of a shot – by his estimate “a good 165 yards” – with a pistol (we do not know…

“Anyone who does not love (exhibit God’s love**) does not know God, because God is love.” – 1 John 4:8 ESV

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the TRUTH** , and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” – Jesus, John 14:6

“Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the TRUTH**.” Apostle Paul, 1 Corinthians 13:6

**My emphasis

Talon’s point for today? Simple. We cannot truly love, and exhibit God’s love, unless we are prepared to exhibit the love of truth. Of course there is also this:

“Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,” Apostle Paul, Ephesians 4:15, (something Talon at times fails at and continues to need the gentle molding hand of the Master Potter to remember that we are charged to speak the truth we know in love.)

Sometimes that love must be bold and blunt and can appear as something unloving to a world that hates truth. Yet a willingness to speak the truth in boldness should also not be used as an excuse to disregard concepts of kindness.
