Biblical Scholar Smacks Down Piers Morgon Over “Gay Marriage”

Foolish Piers Morgan invited the wrong defender of Biblical truth on his show, hoping to trap him into admitting homosexual “marriage” has not been addressed by Christ. Instead he got dressed down by scholar Dr. Michael Brown and the facts.

Piers Morgan is clearly a glutton for punishment. We saw that repeatedly during the gun control debates in the wake of the Newtown shooting.

A couple of nights ago on his program, Morgan criticized Phil Robertson’s recent anti-gay remarks as “repulsive” and claimed that he should be fired. Apparently, that’s Morgan’s way of handling opposing viewpoints from major celebrity figures.

On his program last night, he decided to invite a Biblical scholar, Dr. Michael Brown, on the show so that he could trap him into admitting that Jesus did not, in fact, condemn homosexuality.

That trap was not set properly.

When Morgan asked Brown to cite just one instance of Jesus condemning homosexuality, he probably thought that he had already won the debate. But alas, he was hoisted on his own petard. Read more here

The King James puts it well in Romans 1:28 “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a (REPROBATE mind), to do those things which are not convenient;…” (my emphasis)

Note: We like to point to the unholiness of homosexuality as it’s a profound, in your face, violation of God’s precepts, but we would also do well to remember some of the other evil behaviors that it was “coupled” with in the following verses:

“29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”

Ouch! I have found myself in more than one of those categories since my acceptance of Christ and if I were to view myself through God’s knowledge of my every act there’s probably a couple more I don’t even know.

I too can’t imagine how one derives pleasure from the thought of such a disgusting act and I’m glad the brother put Piers in his ignorant place but I can’t help but also remember have far Jesus has brought me and the work he continues to do in me. I pray the homosexuals will experience this true and enduring love.

Toss in your "two cents" if you care to. Fair warning, you might get change ;-)
