“Raise not your sails to the winds of this world”
It is all too easy in this age of slick marketing to confuse “want” with need.
What we need is very basic; healthy food, safe shelter and clothing, healthy contact with our fellow man, and communion with our Creator.
What we often settle for is junk food and unhealthy relationships, while we seek out extravagant shelter via our houses and cars, even our clothing choices often reveal our flawed priorities, all while we disregard our need for our Creator whatsoever.
God through his Word tells us the flaw in this through Proverbs 14:12. He apparently deemed it necessary for us to quickly be reminded by repeating himself shortly after in Proverbs 16:25
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.”

If you’ve have already struck the rocks don’t lose hope. I hope you take courage in the following poem
